Dimitris Alithinos was born in Athens in 1945 and is one of the most important contemporary Greek painters internationally. He studied painting at the ASKT in Athens and the Academia di Belle Arti in Rome, and architecture at the École Spéciale d'Architecture in Paris. It was introduced to the international art scene in the early 70s and has been continuously present ever since. He has held many individual exhibitions, happenings, performances and visual actions in Greece and abroad.
In 2015 he was awarded by AICA HELLAS for the contribution of his entire artistic work to the history of Greek art and in 2022 by the World Association of Visual Arts.
Dimitris Alithinos exhibited for the first time in Nicosia in 1983 and since then he has been constantly present in the cultural development of Cyprus with exhibitions, cover-ups, lectures, publications, publications.
